Around The Lake - This Week's Latest

More news on what's happening at the Echo Park Lake Rehabilitation and around Echo Park

Echo Park: Greatest Neighborhood in Los Angeles, Which Has 87 of Them

Echo Park is, depending on your point of view: the poor man's Silver Lake, the rich man's Highland Park, the Williamsburg of the West Coast, a 40,455-person working-class burg full of diversity and a wee bit of gang violence. Or, it's that strange little neighborhood you drive through getting to Dodger Stadium. Continue reading on the LAWeekly site:

it looked like,

Black Hogg - Creative Food in Silverlake

Last night was our first at the Black Hogg Restaurant, and it definitely won't be our last. This small stark space is putting out some of the most creative food I've had in a while.
We tried a variety of dishes, with the standouts being the Popcorn Bacon, the Pork Belly Tacos and the Brussel sprouts and Yukon gold potatoes topped with a poached egg. But everything we had was superb.
The Popcorn Bacon is Pork Belly that's breaded and fried. A very unique dish.
The Pork Belly tacos are just spicy enough and absolutely wonderful.
They also had a Roast that was cooked in IPA ale. It had to be the most tender beef I've probably ever had.
All of the dishes are different than anything I've had in the past.
The restaurant is owned by Eric Park, who hails from the French Culinary Institute in New York. In order to add a Beer and Wine license, he closed up for two months to upgrade the restaurant.
The reviews are in, at all the restaurant review sites this restaurant gets 5 stars from everyone that has eaten there.

Black Hogg is located in Silverlake at
2852 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026

Statue Unveiling

While I thought with The Lady of The Lake Statue would be facing
the lake, they are installing her facing the park.
This was her original spot many years back,
and they are installing her where she used to stand.
